Tormenta Preview Center & Merchandise

Now that ride details have been announced, a preview center in front of the park’s Spain section has popped up for Tormenta Rampaging Run.

Tormenta Rampaging Run will be the tallest dive coaster in the world when it opens. It’ll also be the tallest coaster in Texas.

Informational signage has been placed along the ride’s construction walls.

Tormenta Rampaging Run is set to break six roller coaster records when it opens.

Tormenta Rampaging Run merchandise is now available in the park.

Construction Site Tour

Six Flags Over Texas invited us for a construction tour of Tormenta Rampaging Run’s ride area. This section shows a coaster footer with El Diablo’s former site in the background.

Footers are mostly complete, looking out towards the park’s main entrance and parking lot.

Crews work on the coaster’s remaining footers.

The first supports have gone vertical! This section will be the final brake run and station area.

This is the first of several footers that still need to be installed.

A segment of track has also been placed near the newly-installed supports.

Construction of Tormenta’s lift hill is expected to progress through October.

Tormenta Rampaging Run’s name and details have officially been announced! The final footers are being finished up for the new record-breaking dive coaster, while the first support columns have gone vertical. A preview area has been set up in front of Spain teasing the new coaster and Tormenta Rampaging Run merchandise is available in the park.

A slew of projects continue on as summer begins to wrap up at Six Flags Over Texas. At front gate, more shade structures have been constructed. Southern Palace Theatre’s first phase of renovation has come together with a refreshed paint scheme on its exterior. El Aserradero Flume 2 is also in the middle of a refurbishment, while more footers are being installed for 2026’s dive coaster addition.

July has arrived and footer work continues on the new 2026 dive coaster at Six Flags Over Texas. Additional track pieces have arrived, including segments of lift hill that are staged in overflow parking. Southern Palace Theatre is undergoing renovations, taking advantage of no summer shows. The venue’s exterior is being touched up. It is currently unclear what work is happening to the interior.

Additional pieces of giga dive coaster track and supports have arrived at Six Flags Over Texas. Crews are also in the early stages of coaster construction, prepping the parking lot for footers. Other refresh projects continue throughout the park, including minor facelifts to Texas Arena and Texas SkyScreamer. Two more refresh stations have also been opened near the park entrance.

Several refresh projects continue across the park, including the front gate area and All American Cafe. El Mercado de la Plaza and E.G. Sugarwater’s have recently reopened after undergoing renovations. New ride units for El Aserradero, along with the first support and track components for the to-be-named giga dive coaster, have also been delivered to the park.

Aggressive construction projects continue to move forward at Six Flags Over Texas. JB’s Smokehouse BBQ has reopened with a refreshed serving area and refill station, while All American Cafe and other snack stands temporarily close for upgrades. El Diablo has also been dismantled and shipped out of the park. Sections near front gate have reopened with new pavement and pavers.
