Southern Palace Theatre Renovations

Renovations are under way at Southern Palace Theatre, the park’s primary performance venue. Exterior brick walls are currently being stripped of several layers of paint.

Other issues appear to be getting addressed on the theatre’s exterior.

The main entrance to Southern Palace Theatre is receiving a facelift.

The theatre’s pillared entryway will soon be freshened up.

Moldings, trim and doorways are also seeing major touchups. It is unclear currently what work is taking place on the inside of the theatre.

Large sections of parking lot have been dug up as crews continue moving forward with 2026 dive coaster construction.

Based off footer placement the dive coaster will venture far into the parking lot.

Footers take some time to cure. Once the curing process is complete, vertical construction can begin.

While some footers have been poured, others await the next steps.

Additional track has arrived, including these lift hill segments in the overflow parking lot.

A slew of projects continue on as summer begins to wrap up at Six Flags Over Texas. At front gate, more shade structures have been constructed. Southern Palace Theatre’s first phase of renovation has come together with a refreshed paint scheme on its exterior. El Aserradero Flume 2 is also in the middle of a refurbishment, while more footers are being installed for 2026’s dive coaster addition.

July has arrived and footer work continues on the new 2026 dive coaster at Six Flags Over Texas. Additional track pieces have arrived, including segments of lift hill that are staged in overflow parking. Southern Palace Theatre is undergoing renovations, taking advantage of no summer shows. The venue’s exterior is being touched up. It is currently unclear what work is happening to the interior.

Additional pieces of giga dive coaster track and supports have arrived at Six Flags Over Texas. Crews are also in the early stages of coaster construction, prepping the parking lot for footers. Other refresh projects continue throughout the park, including minor facelifts to Texas Arena and Texas SkyScreamer. Two more refresh stations have also been opened near the park entrance.

Several refresh projects continue across the park, including the front gate area and All American Cafe. El Mercado de la Plaza and E.G. Sugarwater’s have recently reopened after undergoing renovations. New ride units for El Aserradero, along with the first support and track components for the to-be-named giga dive coaster, have also been delivered to the park.

Aggressive construction projects continue to move forward at Six Flags Over Texas. JB’s Smokehouse BBQ has reopened with a refreshed serving area and refill station, while All American Cafe and other snack stands temporarily close for upgrades. El Diablo has also been dismantled and shipped out of the park. Sections near front gate have reopened with new pavement and pavers.

A record number of enhancement projects are under way at Six Flags Over Texas. This includes structure demolitions, pavement improvements and dining refreshes and remodels. Though Titan has reopened, its paint job continues with a segment of supports still remaining. Sidewinder has also reopened and sports a fresh paint scheme as well.
