Six Flags Over Texas Announces Opening Date for Tormenta Rampaging Run Roller Coaster
Six Flags Over Texas today announced Friday, June 26 as the grand opening for Tormenta Rampaging Run, the park’s newest roller coaster. Tormenta Rampaging Run shatters several world records, especially in the dive coaster category. At 309 feet tall with a 285-foot first drop, the new coaster becomes the tallest of its kind (and the tallest coaster in Texas). Tormenta Rampaging Run is also be the fastest dive coaster in the world, reaching top speeds of 87 miles per hour.
Tormenta Testing Continues, Theming Comes to Life, Other Ride Updates
Tormenta Rampaging Run, Six Flags Over Texas' new record-breaking dive coaster, continues to march forward. Two trains are now test cycling on the coaster, while its entrance portal comes to life with new theming and signage. Tormenta Begins Testing at Six Flags Over Texas, Wide Array of Summer Entertainment is Back
Six Flags Over Texas' newest roller coaster, Tormenta Rampaging Run, has begun its test cycles. The record-breaking ride is set to open this season and its debut shouldn't be far away. Spain also continues to come together as its entry arch is being rebuilt, along with Tormenta's entrance portal. Summer has brought along a wide array of new entertainment for the first time in several seasons. This includes Celebrate! in Southern Palace Theatre and a new marionette show, Western Daze, in the park's Texas section.

Tormenta Rampaging Run continues to near completion as trains have been added to the track and most of the construction equipment is gone. Six Flags Over Texas Introduces Pete Carmichael as New Park President
Six Flags Entertainment Corporation (NYSE: FUN) today announced the reintroduction of park presidents at ten of the company’s key properties. Six Flags Over Texas has introduced its new park president, Pete Carmichael, who most recently served as regional vice president and general manager of Six Flags’ northeast parks. The change is part of a new operating structure designed to better support the unique needs of each park and strengthen performance across the company’s portfolio.

Six Flags Over Texas Brings High-Flying Dog Stunts to Southern Palace Theatre April 3 to May 3
Perondi’s Stunt Dog Experience makes its way to Six Flags Over Texas this spring for a tail-wagging and energetic performance starting April 3. The interactive show offers a variety of canine entertainment that features both rescue and shelter dogs from across the country. These dogs perform incredible stunts, Frisbee tricks, dance routines, athletic feats, and more for guests of all ages. The show is free with park admission and runs on select weekends through May 3.

The 65th season is officially under way at Six Flags Over Texas! Six Flags Over Texas Releases 2026 Operating Calendar and Daily Tickets Through Labor Day
Today, Six Flags Over Texas released its 2026 operating calendar and good any day tickets with daily tickets through Labor Day available starting Dec. 10. The park, currently in full swing of its beloved winter event Holiday in the Park, will take a seasonal break, closing Jan. 5 through Feb. 27. During this period, the park will kick off preparations for the 2026 season and its highly anticipated 65th anniversary milestone.
