The Fright Fest scares are back at Six Flags Over Texas on select dates through November 1. This year sees new entertainment, such as Wake the Dead Murder Mystery, revamped SAW and The Conjuring Universe haunted houses, an insane new premium scare zone with Doc Varnum's Hybrid Hell Pit and plenty of roaming monsters. Ghoulish Fun Returns to Six Flags Over Texas as Fright Fest, Tricks and Treats and Oktoberfest Details Announced
Fright Fest presented by SNICKERS® returns to Six Flags Over Texas on select nights Sept. 11 through Nov. 1. The annual signature event offers five haunted mazes, six outdoor scare zones, multiple live shows and Halloween-themed food and beverages to celebrate the fall season. This year’s Fright Fest entertainment lineup includes the debut of “Wake the Dead,” an interactive musical mystery that allows guests to help determine the outcome of a family murder investigation through audience participation.
Six Flags Over Texas 65th Birthday Celebration; Exploring the Park's Historical Rides & Icons
Six Flags Over Texas, the original Six Flags theme park, celebrated its 65th birthday on August 5. Park president Pete Carmichael and Arlington mayor Jim Ross gave remarks before a confetti-filled opening. Six Flags Over Texas is home to several historical rides and attractions, including Casa Magnetica, Runaway Mine Train, Southern Palace Theatre and El Sombrero. Multi-Train Ops Return to New Texas Giant! Trying New Food, Shock Wave Status
Six Flags Over Texas is finishing out summer strong with big adjustments to ride operations, including introducing multiple trains back to New Texas Giant. Live entertainment, such as Brad Ross: International Star Illusionist and the Gunfighters, continue through August 9. New food offerings were introduced with the opening of Tormenta Rampaging Run and other small improvement projects are also ongoing throughout the park.

UPDATED: Six Flags Over Texas Announces Opening Date for Tormenta Rampaging Run Roller Coaster
Six Flags Over Texas has announced Thursday, July 9 as the grand opening for Tormenta Rampaging Run, the park’s newest roller coaster. Tormenta Rampaging Run shatters several world records, especially in the dive coaster category. At 309 feet tall with a 285-foot first drop, the new coaster becomes the tallest of its kind (and the tallest coaster in Texas). Tormenta Rampaging Run is also be the fastest dive coaster in the world, reaching top speeds of 87 miles per hour.

Tormenta Begins Testing at Six Flags Over Texas, Wide Array of Summer Entertainment is Back
Six Flags Over Texas' newest roller coaster, Tormenta Rampaging Run, has begun its test cycles. The record-breaking ride is set to open this season and its debut shouldn't be far away. Spain also continues to come together as its entry arch is being rebuilt, along with Tormenta's entrance portal. Summer has brought along a wide array of new entertainment for the first time in several seasons. This includes Celebrate! in Southern Palace Theatre and a new marionette show, Western Daze, in the park's Texas section.

Six Flags Over Texas has introduced its new park president, Pete Carmichael, who most recently served as regional vice president and general manager of Six Flags’ northeast parks. Perondi’s Stunt Dog Experience makes its way to Six Flags Over Texas this spring for a tail-wagging and energetic performance starting April 3. The interactive show offers a variety of canine entertainment that features both rescue and shelter dogs from across the country. These dogs perform incredible stunts, Frisbee tricks, dance routines, athletic feats, and more for guests of all ages. The show is free with park admission and runs on select weekends through May 3.

Today, Six Flags Over Texas released its 2026 operating calendar and good any day tickets with daily tickets through Labor Day available starting Dec. 10. The park, currently in full swing of its beloved winter event Holiday in the Park, will take a seasonal break, closing Jan. 5 through Feb. 27.
