Six Flags Over Texas Updates 2022 Park Map, Removing Rides, Pathways & More, Daffy Duck Bucket Blasters Update

Six Flags Over Texas recently unveiled a new digital map for 2022 with a handful of modifications. These include the removal of a significant pathway in the park’s Texas section, along with the blockout of a couple flat ride attractions.

Texas Area Changes

Updated Park Map

The first major change in the park’s Texas section is the removal of a primary park pathway that leads guests past Rodeo and towards the Texas Section. The removal of this pathway means that the Rodeo flat ride is no longer in operation, along with a restroom location being eliminated. Though it wasn’t advertised on the original park map, this also blocks off the Coca-Cola Freestyle location. Guests traveling past this section of the park must now walk through Old South and the JB’s Smokehouse BBQ patio or cut over the lower bridge located near the gift shop exit of New Texas Giant. These changes likely fall in line with the concept of increasing foot traffic to Smith Street, which features three dining locations.

A new dining offering, known as Krazy Kraut Dog, was advertised as coming to the location of the former Lone Star Twisters. However, with the release of the updated map, it appears that this plan has been canceled for now.

Gotham City Changes

The second major change to the park’s 2022 map is the removal of the Harley Quinn Spinsanity flat ride. It is unclear if the park plans to remove the attraction, or if the current maintenance needed to keep the ride functional will require significant downtime. Harley Quinn Spinsanity opened at Six Flags Over Texas on July 14, 2018. The second ride of its kind in North America, Harley Quinn Spinsanity carried 24 riders to heights of 70 feet with forces reaching 3.5 Gs. This ABC Rides Tourbillon flat ride is also located at Six Flags Great Adventure as Cyborg Cyber Spin.

It is unclear if these changes have become a permanent fixture to Six Flags Over Texas or if they are part of continually sporadic plans to change things up in an effort to boost profits and with modified dining experiences. Either way, SFOT Source will continue to provide updates as they happen.

Daffy Duck Bucket Blasters Update

While previous park officials announced that Daffy Duck Bucket Blasters would be reinstalled at Six Flags Over Texas, it unfortunately appears that this is no longer the case. As of now, the park has no active plan to bring the children’s attraction back to life. Daffy Duck Bucket Blasters first opened in 2014 with the remodel of Looney Tunes USA into Bugs Bunny Boomtown. Though originally designed to keep Daffy Duck Bucket Blasters in tact, the addition of a turntable to Aquaman: Power Wave required the park to clear the space.

This isn’t the first time that a fully-functional attraction has been removed and put on the shelf in recent history. The original Harley Quinn Spinsanity, also formerly known as Crazy Legs, was removed in 2018 to make way for a new dining location in the park’s Gotham City section. The attraction is currently being stored in the boneyard under Titan.
