Our visit to Six Flags Over Texas begins with a bizarre new layout for entering the park's parking lot. Six Flags Over Texas recently filed a project with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation that includes $2 million worth of upgrades for their Bugs Bunny Boomtown area. The scope of work described is for new paving and foundations for two new rides in the Bugs Bunny Boomtown section of the park.

Holiday in the Park returns to Six Flags Over Texas on select dates through December 31. Highlighting this year is a reimagined Christmas at the Southern Palace show, along with Krampus' House of Horrors haunted house and tons of new specialty food offerings. The Oktoberfest Food Festival has returned to Six Flags Over Texas on select dates from September 2 to October 31. Taking place along the park’s Smith Street and Old South area, the festival features a number of German-inspired food and adult beverage options with expanded menus for 2023. This year's event also features new live entertainment, photo opportunities and games, such as cornhole and shuffleboard.

Fright Fest at Six Flags Over Texas is coming up quick and the park is hard at work preparing for the Halloween event. This year's Fright Fest features several new entertainment offerings, including H.H. Holme's Freak Show in Southern Palace Theatre. Multiple new scare zones and haunted houses, such as Coven Cove, Lago de Miedo and Wrong Turn on Canal Street, will also make their debut in 2023.

The end of summer has approached, but Six Flags Over Texas isn't slowing down on park improvements. New for 2023, Six Flags Over Texas debuts their Scream Break event. Taking place during their Spring Break celebration, this new nighttime event features access to Aquaman: Power Wave, rides, sideshow entertainment acts, haunted houses, a scare zone and more.

Six Flags Over Texas announced today that passholder previews will take place for the all-new Aquaman: Power Wave roller coaster on two weekends leading up to the ride’s grand opening. When it opens, the high-thrill Aquaman: Power Wave water coaster will be the first ride of its kind to debut in North America.

Six Flags Over Texas, the Thrill Capital of Texas, announces the grand opening of one of the most highly anticipated new attractions of the year. The new AQUAMAN: Power Wave multi-launch water coaster at Six Flags Over Texas, in partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Themed Entertainment, on behalf of DC, is the first of its kind in North America and opens to park guests on Saturday, March 11, 2023.

This weekend, Six Flags Over Texas confirmed via Twitter the permanent closure of the Harley Quinn Spinsanity flat ride. Harley Quinn Spinsanity officially opened at Six Flags Over Texas on July 14, 2018 as part of the park’s newer Gotham City area expansion. Harley Quinn Spinsanity featured a unique triple box design, creating the ability to spin around on three different axes at the same time.

Six Flags Over Texas heads into 2023 with tons of planned upgrades for the new year. These include fresh paint jobs on multiple rides, two restroom remodels, upgrades and extensive refurbishments to existing roller coasters and more. On top of this, the park has announced interesting new events, such as Scream Break, that are set to debut this year. We also check out Aquaman: Power Wave, which now has entrance signage and appears close to an opening date announcement.

Our final visit to Holiday in the Park at Six Flags Over Texas takes place the week before Christmas. Though the park has more decorations since our previous visit, we run into issues with Holiday Market offerings closing early and the midday cancellation of shows.

Our first visit to Holiday in the Park 2022 at Six Flags Over Texas takes on some interesting turns with not-so-great theme park weather. However, we are able to experience a handful of the event's entertainment offerings, holiday overlays and park-wide Christmas light displays. Holiday in the Park takes place now through January 2.

Six Flags Over Texas debuts their all-new Holiday Market feature during Holiday in the Park. Taking place now through December 23, the area features several food and gift vendors, specialty food items, fire pits, holiday merchandise, visits with Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus, festive decor and more.

We are less than a week out from the beginning of Holiday in the Park at Six Flags Over Texas. While a handful of details have been released, we take a loop around the park to piece together other event clues. Six Flags also hosted their Veterans Weekend event, which gave veterans and active military personnel free admission, along with several other perks.

Total revenue for third quarter 2022 decreased $133 million, or 21%, compared to third quarter 2021, driven by lower attendance partially offset by higher per capita spending. The lower attendance was driven by an increase in ticket prices and elimination of free tickets and heavily-discounted product offerings.
