Ghoulish Fun Returns to Six Flags Over Texas as Fright Fest, Tricks and Treats and Oktoberfest Details Announced
Fright Fest presented by SNICKERS® returns to Six Flags Over Texas on select nights Sept. 11 through Nov. 1. The annual signature event offers five haunted mazes, six outdoor scare zones, multiple live shows and Halloween-themed food and beverages to celebrate the fall season. This year’s Fright Fest entertainment lineup includes the debut of “Wake the Dead,” an interactive musical mystery that allows guests to help determine the outcome of a family murder investigation through audience participation.
Six Flags Over Texas 65th Birthday Celebration; Exploring the Park's Historical Rides & Icons
Six Flags Over Texas, the original Six Flags theme park, celebrated its 65th birthday on August 5. Park president Pete Carmichael and Arlington mayor Jim Ross gave remarks before a confetti-filled opening. Six Flags Over Texas is home to several historical rides and attractions, including Casa Magnetica, Runaway Mine Train, Southern Palace Theatre and El Sombrero. Multi-Train Ops Return to New Texas Giant! Trying New Food, Shock Wave Status
Six Flags Over Texas is finishing out summer strong with big adjustments to ride operations, including introducing multiple trains back to New Texas Giant. Live entertainment, such as Brad Ross: International Star Illusionist and the Gunfighters, continue through August 9. New food offerings were introduced with the opening of Tormenta Rampaging Run and other small improvement projects are also ongoing throughout the park.
Historical 65th Anniversary Celebration Begins at Six Flags Over Texas on February 28
Six Flags Over Texas, the world-famous original park in the Six Flags family, will reopen Saturday, February 28 for its 2026 season and begin a year-long celebration of its 65th anniversary. The milestone year marks a new chapter for the park, supported by a multimillion-dollar reinvestment that introduces new and upgraded attractions, show venues and new entertainment designed to launch a new era for the historic Texas destination.
