Holiday in the Park

Event Guide

Six Flags Over Texas celebrates the most wonderful time of the year with Holiday in the Park. The festive event features award-winning live entertainment, family-friendly activities, a number of specialty food offerings and visits with Santa Claus.

About Holiday in the Park

Holiday in the Park originated in the 1985 season at Six Flags Over Texas and has been operating ever since. The event has expanded over the years to include thousands of Christmas lights, specialized foods, live entertainment, a snow hill and many other hands-on activities. In 1988, AstroWorld added the Holiday in the Park concept, but only held the event until 1997. Some iconic pieces of Holiday in the Park have unfortunately met their demise, including the Texas Chute Out Christmas tree lined with red string lights and a star on top, the Parade of Trees, the impressive Lionel Holiday Model Train Display and Frosty Snow Hill.

Today, Holiday in the Park has expanded to several parks in the Six Flags chain and proves to be a popular attraction. Six Flags Over Texas continues to evolve their version of the event with attractions, such as the award-winning Christmas at the Southern Palace and the Merry Marketplace.
